Hello, I’m Keyra,

A passionate graphic and web designer soon to graduate from John Abbott College. My journey in the world of design is deeply rooted in my upbringing as the child of a single mother. From an early age, I was instilled with a profound appreciation for hard work and dedication, values that have shaped my character and career aspirations.

During my formative years, I found inspiration in the world of movies, music, and art. This eclectic mix of influences ignited my career path early on. In high school, my fascination with the art world led me to explore Multimedia art, where I began my creative journey with tools like Photoshop and Illustrator.

After high school, my love for art blended with a deep-seated passion for languages, culture, and travel. Eager to broaden my horizons, I enrolled in the Arts, Letters, and Communications program. My aspiration to communicate better across cultures drove me to learn Spanish and Swedish, allowing me to connect more deeply with people and appreciate foreign cultures through their languages. Amid the challenges of the COVID era, I yearned for a sense of belonging and community. This quest led me to the graphic and web design program, where I rediscovered my love for design and found a supportive community that resonated with my creative spirit.

Beyond my design work, I am an avid music enthusiast and a passionate traveler. Post-pandemic, I’ve immersed myself in the world of music, attending over 25 concerts and festivals. In the summer of 2023, I embarked on an adventure to Scandinavia, exploring the rich tapestry of cultures in the region. Music also holds a special place in my heart. It has been a constant companion, inspiring me and providing the soundtrack to my life. My love for music has seamlessly woven its way into my design work, adding a unique dimension to my creations.

Looking ahead, my goals are deeply rooted in my experiences and values. I aspire to become a productive member of society, contributing my creative talents to projects that bring joy not only to me but to others as well. Additionally, I dream of finding employment that seamlessly merges my passions: music, design, and travel. Whether as a concert photographer capturing the essence of my favorite artists, managing social media for music festivals, or working at Spotify’s headquarters in Sweden, I aspire to weave my diverse interests into a fulfilling career, while also being able to provide support and comfort to my mom, who has been my unwavering source of inspiration and strength throughout my life.
